Recording privacy
The microphone is only active during a recitation session. Recordings stay in the app's private storage and are never used to train anything. Public Shares are moderated; listeners can report an inappropriate recitation, and the publisher can withdraw it at any time.
Frequently asked questions
Who can hear my recordings?
Only you, unless you publish one yourself as a Public Share. A Public Share is shown in the app to other signed-in users, and its audio file is stored at a public address, so anyone who has the link can play it.
Can recordings be deleted?
Yes. Recordings on your device can be deleted at any time from within the app. You can withdraw a Public Share, and its audio is deleted from the server too.
Do I need an account to record?
No. Recording and playback work without an account. An account (sign in with Google or email) is only needed to publish a Public Share.
Does the app grade my tajweed?
Not yet. Utluma helps you hear your own recitation and compare it with a reciter; the assessment stays with you or your teacher.
